The Academy recently partnered with Spotlight on Poverty and Opportunity, with support from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, for a pair of webinars focusing on on supporting family income and focused on the legislative state of play with analysis from all sides of the issue from key players in the debate.

In a June webinar, panelists Rucker Johnson, Elaine Maag, Robert Moffitt, and Michael Strain, with moderator Ramesh Ponnuru, discussed the American Rescue Plan and what years of rigorous research and analysis tell us about the various policies and investments that contribute to the goal of reducing child poverty.

A July webinar featured Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO), Samuel Hammond, Chye-Ching Huang, Avenel Joseph, Wells King, and Michael Schmidt, with moderator Aparna Mathur, in a lively policy debate on extending the expansion of the Child Tax Credit and other policy proposals to support low- to moderate-income families.
