November 10, 2021, 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST

“The End of Family Homelessness,” a webinar and discussion, was based on a recent volume of the ANNALS of the American Academy of Political and Social Science. It reviewed key insights from new and existing research that can provide guidance for homelessness policies and state and local interventions.

Moderator: Dennis Culhane, University of Pennsylvania

Panelists:

Marc Dones, King County Regional Homelessness Authority

Chris Herring, Harvard University and University of California-Los Angeles

Sharon McDonald, National Alliance to End Homelessness

Zach Parolin, Bocconi University and Columbia University

Beth Shinn, Vanderbilt University

Contemporary research helps us understand the dynamic nature of homelessness, how it affects individuals and families, how it is shaped by (and shapes) socio-demographic inequality in America, and the ways in which public policy and local interventions mitigate or exacerbate the crisis.
